Tungiasis is a cutaneous ectoparasitosis caused by the flea parasite Tunga penetrans, prevalent in South America, Caribbean, and sub-Saharan Africa. Clinically it characterized formation of single or multiple papules with translucent whitish halo brownish-black central region, frequently located on feet. The lesions may present itching mild pain, bacterial superinfection being most frequent complication. diagnosis was made based clinical characteristics patient from endemic areas. treatment choice surgical removal followed using topical antimicrobials tetanus vaccination. Prevention essential use closed footwear repellents.
